BRISBANE, QLD — In a shocking departure from our usual tech coverage, The Rocket Advocate is proud to present this comprehensive profile of world-renowned Italian chef Massimo Bottura, owner of three-Michelin-star restaurant Osteria Francescana and creator of dishes that are simultaneously more innovative and practical than most Australian startups.
Bottura is famous for his contemporary take on Italian cuisine, transforming traditional recipes into modern masterpieces through techniques that we're almost certain involve some form of deep tech. His signature dish "Oops! I Dropped the Lemon Tart" was allegedly inspired by an actual accident in his kitchen, much like how most startup pivots are inspired by the accidental realisation that their original business model doesn't work.

Wondering why we're writing about a famous chef in a tech publication? Yeah, us too.
This culinary detour was inspired by the organisers of Sydney's Sunrise Festival, who apparently believe that having Attica chef Ben Shewry speak at a startup conference is the ingredient their tech event was missing. Because nothing says "cutting-edge technology discourse" like hearing from someone whose expertise lies in making sourdough and foraging for native ingredients.
We can only assume that after exhausting all relevant tech speakers, Sunrise organisers decided that what founders really need to succeed is advice from someone who knows how to perfectly time a soufflé. Perhaps there's a deep metaphor about startup growth hidden in the fermentation process? Or maybe they're just hoping he'll cater lunch.
In the spirit of this bold cross-disciplinary approach, The Rocket Advocate's next issue will feature:
A quantum computing explainer by a professional dog walker
Five blockchain trends to watch, as explained by a florist
AI ethics discussed by our local barista (who, to be fair, probably has more insight than most AI ethicists)
We've reached out to Massimo Bottura for comment on Australia's R&D tax incentive structure, but his representatives seemed confused by our inquiry. We remain confused by Sunrise's programming choices, so at least there's symmetry.
The Rocket Advocate: Where our tech coverage is exactly as relevant as having a chef speak at your startup conference.
